The school opened in 1937 as the second village college in part of the Local Director of Education Henry Morris' vision for providing education for local people in the countryside around Cambridge.
Henry Morris also established many other schools in the area including Soham Village College, Impington Village College and the first village college, Sawston Village College.
The school aims to educate the entire community thus many adult classes are offered in the evenings and at weekends.
