Detailed description is Blonay is a municipality in the district of Riviera-Pays-d'Enhaut in the canton of Vaud in Switzerland.HistoryBlonay is first mentioned in 861 as Blodennaco.
In 1108 it was mentioned as Bloniaco.
During the 13th Century it was known as Blonay, Blonai and Blunai.GeographyBlonay has an area, of 16.1km2.
Of this area, 5.34km2 or 33.2% is used for agricultural purposes, while 7.41km2 or 46.1% is forested.
Of the rest of the land, 2.9km2 or 18.0% is settled (buildings or roads), 0.07km2 or 0.4% is either rivers or lakes and 0.32km2 or 2.0% is unproductive land.Of the built up area, housing and buildings made up 12.8% and transportation infrastructure made up 4.4%.
