For the first time in nearly 20 years, runners will have the opportunity to race in this pristine forest, which borders Storm King Mountain on the east, and the expansive lands of the United States Military Academy (West Point) to the south..

Black Rock Forest is comprised of approximately 27 miles of scenic carriage roads and single-track trails.
It also contains a number of sky ponds, which support mountain aquatic life as well as acting as backup water supply for a local village..

The Black Rock Races consist of two races within the event:.

TEN SUMMITS 25K.
This race is primarily on single-track trail, some easy to follow, and some requiring a good eye for faded or hard-to-find trail blazes.
You'll summit all ten (10) of the high peaks in the forest, to include Mt Misery, Honey Hill, Black Rock, Sackett Ridge, Split Rock, Jupiter's Boulder, Eagle Cliff, Spy Rock, Rattlesnake Hill, and lastly, Hill of Pines.
Not only does each summit have its own unique vista (some of which are STUNNING), but you'll encounter other great vistas as you go along, such as Aleck Meadow Reservoir, Tower Vue, and others..

WHITE OAK10K.
This race is entirely on carriage roads, and passes several points of interest in the forest, including the famous White Oak tree, Sutherland Pond, Jims Pond, and the Chatfield House, which is known to locals for its ghost story.
