Detailed description is The purpose of Big Rock's Bee Farm is to provide local pollination and honey to the community of Dunlo.
Hello, my name is Renae Kakabar and I am one of the creators behind Big Rock's Bee Farm.
Big Rock lives deep in the forest on Dunlo Dip Road on what once was my grandparent's farm.
With their passing, my father and mother were passed down the piece of property and of coarse Big Rock.
Big Rock is such a legend because my sister and I (seen below) would adventure to Big Rock as children and play in the woods.
Often my grandmother (Mugga) would bring sidewalk chalk and would encourage us to let our imagination wonder.
Big Rock was often a horse or simply a place to rest after work on the farm.
There was always a necessitate to visit this childhood landmark every time we visited.
As we grew up there was always ideas of what we were going to do with this piece of property.
With our crop production being very inconstant, there was really nothing we could do other than attempt a small garden.
In sixth grade, however, I was introduced to the world of beekeeping.
I thought this could end the famine to our small garden.
Ever since that thought crossed my mind, I pushed myself to do research on these fascinating creatures.
With all my hard work I put into researching, I finally convinced my parents to start two hives.
Big Rock's Bee Farm is an inspiration to me and a learning experience for my parents.
Never would my grandparents expect to have two granddaughters as beekeepers.
This is why my family have chosen the name Big Rock.
This idea of owning bees was once a dream of a sixth grader and with help and persistence, my family is now on their way to experiencing a life time of a new adventure.
