Who am I?.
I am the mother of 2 breastfed children; my experience was by no means ideal.
Those difficulties created an interest in helping other mothers.
I became a Registered Nurse in 2003; after working as a Medical/Surgical nurse for 2 years, I started working with postpartum mothers.
In 2005, I became a hospital based Lactation Specialist and in 2009 obtained my International Board Certification (IBCLC)..
I have experience working with breastfeeding techniques, supply management (including low milk supply and oversupply), infant suck/tongue assessment and function, breastfeeding multiples, breast augmentation or reduction, expressing (pumping), storage, returning to work, and medication use while breastfeeding.
I am comfortable communicating with healthcare providers and feel that it is important to use a multidisciplinary approach..
