MUSIC: BCAPA has a large and thriving Music Department that is separated into three basic categories of lessons; Kindermusik, Traditional Music Lessons, and Suzuki Strings.

KINDERMUSIK is a music and movement program for ages birth through seven years old.
Our program is based on research demonstrating the benefits of music at each stage of a child’s development.
We start from where your child is, regardless of his age, and provide activities that stimulate his mind, body, and sense of play.
By moving and dancing to music and playing simple instruments, children improve their gross and fine motor skills.
Activities that encourage freedom within a fun and friendly structure spark their creativity.

MUSIC LESSONS: Traditional private lessons have been a part of the Academy of Performing Arts even before it was an Academy.
Almost all of our principal instructors have advanced degrees and, more importantly, many years of quality teaching experience.
Private music instruction is offered to students of all ages and abilities in the following areas: piano, guitar, violin, viola, voice, cello, flute, trumpet and harp.

SUZUKI: These lessons are offered for violin and viola students of all ages and levels of skill.
Suzuki strings education is an innovative method based on the writings and teaching of Shinichi Suzuki of Japan.

In addition to the weekly private lessons there are group classes that involve repertoire, theory and chamber music.
Group classes provide peer interaction which is crucial for learning the musical language.
