Bentwinds history dates back to 1965 to Sippahaw Country Club.
Sippahaw Country Club, located on the outskirts of downtown Fuquay Varina was the original golf course where 266 members leased property from Jack Blanchard to play golf..

Jim Bullock, Kenneth Cotten, and Joe Chappell were nominated on as Board of Directors and were an integral part of Sippahaw Country Club’s transition to Bentwinds Golf and Country Club in 1976.
Club members voted to purchase land for a new golf course and made that purchase in 1977 from WDS Farms owned by FB West Jr, James Dickens, and James Slaughter.
