Detailed description is I am an experienced Northeast Georgia photographer who is passionate about capturing the essence of those landmark moments in your life.
It is said that a picture is worth a thousand words, and, for me, that’s truly why I take out my camera and try to capture what I see.
Sometimes words fail me, but the light, the color, the subject of some images can speak to me in a way that reaches deeply into my heart.
That’s why I take pictures..

My nature photography has garnered a couple of awards, and I have two seasonal images hanging in canvas on the walls of the Northeast Georgia Hospital in Brazelton, GA.
I am so proud and humbled to know that these images are seen by people who are struggling with health issues, and might take solace as they reflect on the image of a beautiful maple, with brightly colored autumn leaves, or sun-dazzled spring maple samaras, dangling in the morning light.
This award taught me that my photography had value for others, not just for me.
So I worked to expand my visual palette to include more than just natural objects.
I started taking pictures of people, and I found another passion..

I decided to hone my skills by attending continuing education classes at North Georgia Technical College.
My classes in beginning and advanced digital photography, lighting and portraiture, and Lightroom editing software helped me improve my techniques, as well as my workflow, so that I was able to take on more work with portraiture and event photography.
I love working with people (partly because of my education career), but I especially love capturing those “decisive moments” in their lives: that first look of the bridegroom seeing his bride, the pride of the family clan as they gather for a celebration of a 90th birthday, the congratulatory smiles of friends applauding a 60th anniversary..

My photographic style is an eclectic blend of photojournalistic (story-telling) and environmental (capturing images on location for the person or event), so that the end result is a portrait that tells more about the person than just showing you what they look like.
I have also thoroughly enjoyed shooting performance photography, in particular the shows at the Sautee Nacoochee Center, including Shubert Alley in the Valley, and the Valley Harmony Radio Show.
Here again I love capturing the performers doing what they do best: singing, dancing, storytelling, laughing, and engaging the audience in a stellar show!.
