Maine Juniors is excited to announce our first Beach Volleyball Summer Camp, coached by our latest Maine Juniors coaching addition, Andy Wimmer! .
.
Andy joins us as a former college player at East Stroudsburg University, where he finished in the top 10 of the NCAA in “points per game” as a middle hitter.
After moving to Florida in 2006 to transition his game to focus on the beach, he quickly became one of the top players in the state - with more than 30 career tournament victories and playing alongside Olympians such as Adrian “Mr.
Skyball” Carambula (Italy in 2016) and Steve Grotowski (Great Britain in 2012)..

Coach Andy is IMPACT certified and has coached for Gold Medal Squared, the Florida State Champions (Bishop Moore High School- Undefeated in 2010), and top level national clubs (Orlando Volleyball Association- OVA and Orlando Gold).
Top NVL and AVP player, Drew Mallin, says “While Andy is a ferocious competitor, it is his ability to teach and communicate that stands out most when playing and training with him”.
You will be seeing a lot of Coach Andy indoors at the Maine Juniors arena and at other MJVBC sand events over the next year! .

Coach Andy has degrees in Sport Management, Management and Leadership, and Psychology.
It is this diverse background that has shaped his philosophy on playing, training, competition, and communication.
As he says, “Volleyball is a physical sport and even more so on the sand.
The benefits of the beach are numerous: your strength and physical prowess will improve, your overall skills will multiply, and your mentality and focus will sharpen.
The sand is a great challenge and equalizer, and will force you to work on your weaknesses and improve your strengths.”.

Ages: All High School Players in Grades 9-12 (as of Fall 2017).
Middle School Players in Grades 6-8 (as of Fall 2017), with 1-2 years indoor or beach volleyball experience recommended .

Schedule: 8:15am - Check-in and warm-up.
8:30am - Skills and Drills.
11:30am - Break for lunch (bring your own) .
12:15pm - Warm-up and organize for afternoon competitive drills and games.

Cost: Early-Bird Registration* (until June 24th): $180.
Regular Registration* (after June 24th): $200.

*Registration cost includes the entry fee for a junior’s tournament being held that Friday, July 14th ($50 value).
