focusing on community, education, and training.
BBBR IS A 501(c)3 Nonprofit Organization dedicated to Boxer and Pit bull breeds in Bakersfield, CA.
Our main focus is education and helping people keep their dogs.
Training is a priority, rehoming is a last resort.
We operate SOLELY on donations and we rely on fosters to help us care for the dogs until a loving, forever home is found.

If you have found a dog and not sure what to do, we encourage you to always look for the owner first.
There is a 15 day stray hold on all dogs that are found by the public.
It is against the law to rehome any dog within the 15 day time frame.
There are many Bakersfield Lost and Found facebook pages you can post on, post on our page as a found dog, and also on our Friends of BBBR page.
If you cannot keep the dog for the 15 days and actively search for the owner, then take to the appropriate dog shelter.
The Bakersfield City Shelter is on Mt.
