Detailed description is สังกัดวัดนิกาย มหานิกาย.
มิทราบว่าก่อสร้างมาเมื่อใด บูรณะอารามใหม่ เมื่อครั้งปี พ.ศ.๒๔๑๐ เป็นวัด สังกัดวัดนิกาย มหานิกาย เถรวาท ลัทธิลังกาวงค์ มิทราบว่าก่อสร้างมาเมื่อใด โดยเริ่มมีการก่อสร้างเสนาสนะ บูรณะอารามใหม่ โดยชาวบ้านที่อพยพมาจากจังหวัดศรีสะเกษ เมื่อครั้งปี พ.ศ.๒๔๑๐ แต่เดิมบริเวณที่ตั้งอาราม ในปัจจุบันเป็นป่ารกร้าง ชาวบ้านเรียกขานว่าดอนธาตุ เพราะสถานที่นั้นได้มีโบราณสถานเก่าแก่ที่ปรากฏให้เห็นอยู่คือ มีองค์พระธาตุประดิษฐานอยู่ ปัจจุบันเหลือเพียงเศษอิฐให้เห็น ไม่เด่นชัดเหมือนเมื่อครั้งแรกที่ชาวบ้านพบเห็น เพราะได้มีต้นมะขามงอกขึ้นแทรกกลางองค์พระธาตุทำให้พระธาตุทลายลง โดยเป็นวัดเก่าที่มีชื่อว่า วัดพระธาตุทองผ่องศรี (ตามคำที่ร่างทรงของพ่อปู่ญาคูคำได้บอกเล่ามา) โดยพ่อปู่ญาคูคำ (คำว่าญาคู เป็น ทินนาม สมณะศักดิ์ตามแบบประเพณีโบราณชาวลาว ที่จะยกย่องพระผู้ปฏิบัติดีปฏิบัติชอบ )นี้ ชาวบ้านเชื่อว่าเป็นดวงวิญญาณบูรพาจารย์ของวัดเก่า ที่ท่านคอยปกปักรักษายังพระอารามและอาณาบริเวณนั้น เมื่อนับอายุวัดเมื่อครั้งมีการเริ่มก่อตั้งวัดในครั้งหลัง น่าจะราว ๑๐๐กว่า-๒๐๐ ปีได้
