Due to the growing Asian and Asian American student body at FSU, the Asian Student Union was created to represent the Asian community at Florida State.
The organization once known as Asian Student Union had transitioned to the Asian American Student Union during the 2006-2007 academic year under the leadership of former AASU Director, Zach Heng..
