Desde muy joven se traslada con su familia a Ibagué (Tolima), donde empieza a mostrar su inquietud por la pintura..
Realizo diferentes talleres de arte en la universidad del Tolima y en su tiempo libre lo dedicaba a realizar talleres de arte para niños..
Después de terminar el bachillerato se traslada a la cuidad de Bogotá para empezar estudios en Artes plásticas en la Escuela de Ares y letras de esa ciudad.
Al culminar los estudios realiza algunas exposiciones en Ibagué, participando en la muestra de arte joven del Tolima en 1998, en este mismo año viaja a Cuba a tomar un taller de talla en Mármol en el prestigioso Instituto Superior de Arte en la Habana con el maestro Juan Quintanilla, rodeada de un ambiente de jóvenes artistas de diferentes partes del mundo haciendo que su pasión por el buen arte sea mayor cada día, cabe destacar que se graduó con la mejor calificación del curso..
Regresa a Colombia y se radica en Ibagué, donde tiene la gran experiencia de participar en el taller Especializado de Experimentación plástica con una duración de dos años dirigido por el Maestro Carlos Granada, quien ayuda a esta joven artista a encontrar su propio lenguaje en el arte, reafirmando cada vez más su pasión por el color y las diferentes texturas que siempre continúan presente en su trabajo..
Durante este periodo participa en diferentes exposiciones como el Salón Departamental de Artistas Tolimenses, donde muestra una obra cada vez más hacia el expresionismo abstracto.
Donde expresa un lenguaje lleno de color y texturas como medio de expresión.
Los colores fuertes y los contrastados de las texturas expresan diferentes lenguajes invitando al espectador a que se deje llevar a sentir emociones mas matizadas que nuestras palabras no pueden expresar..
Durante esta época de grandes experiencias artísticas se casa con el amor de su vida y tienen a su primer hijo..
En 2004 deciden emigrar a Estados Unidos y en esta nueva etapa de sus vidas empieza a trabajar en educación infantil y continuando con su trabajo como artista participando en algunas muestras colectivas con Miami Art Center Art Serv en Fort Lauderdale y una exposición individual en Art Expression and Painters..
Actualmente tiene su propio taller Art Studio Luisa Ximena donde realiza su trabajo personal y hace talleres con niños adolescentes y adultos, con una gran pasión y dedicación como característica principal de su trabajo siempre.
