About the Artist.

Kaylen Bennett was born July 29th, 1993 and hails from Fresno, California.
She is a psychedelic artist and cartoonist and concept artist with interests in anatomy, psychology, cosmology, and other sciences which chiefly influence her work.
She forges her truth using mostly colored pencil as well as other traditional media to illustrate themes such as human condition, dreams, animals, the theoretical, and the observable..
In the summer of 2008, Kaylen studied animation at California State Summer School of the Arts in Valencia, California.
She moved around the country with her mother in 2008 where she would finish high school in Colorado.
She began studying at Casper College in 2011 where she would earn her membership into Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society as well as her Associate's of Fine Arts in graphic design.
In 2012, she staffed on the Expression team as art editor, managing and cataloging art submissions to the magazine.
Working as a caricature portrait artist part-time, Kaylen has also commissioned several works and has begun venturing into promotional and advertising frontiers, including music album covers for local bands such as Remained Unnamed, Wa$e, The Couch Bandits, and the Flashback Band.
Other works include event posters, flyers, portraits, and other requests for freelance art.
She is now currently preparing for exhibitions at local venues such as tattoo parlors, coffee shops, and the Nicolasen.
She plans to begin a new series shortly dealing with issues of purpose, self-worth, and the potential us humans possess..

I draw and paint simply because I am.
When I think of condition or state of being, the present tense comes to mind.
When the present comes to mind, naturally do the past and the future.
The human condition is its bygone past and its conjectured future, but most critically it is now: the present moment.
All observable experience is gathered right now, and life can only be understood in hindsight, the future remains unseen.
In my work, I address the condition of all life, the universe, and us as vibrational beings as well as a species in the present.
My tools consist not only of ink, graphite, colored pencil, or whatever physical materials I decide to speak with; but also of empirical observation coupled with vast reservoirs of imagination.
My interests root deeply in the rich soils of anatomy, biology, psychology, sociology, cosmology, time-based media, and philosophy to name just a few.
As a result, a realm of the present (which has been, is, and always will be) is formed from my perspective.
