A birds eye view of the place where I was born and brought up chintadripet was the prime source of inspiration for me to start a series on aerial view in graphic prints and paintings.

Slowly my visual concepts shifted to my immediate surroundings.
The people around me, the day to day life incidents the nature-birds, trees, sun, fish anything gained importance for day to day life incidents the nature-birds, trees, sun, fish anything gained importance for my imagination.
This stage saw the beginning of my search for the third dimension in my surroundings which resulted in Terracotta and Stone sculptures titled 'Mystic Heads'.
The familiar and the ordinary were expressed in the abstract idiom thought the creation of sense of movement within my sculptures.
But the monotone shades of the medium-terracotta and stone, produced a feeling of restlessness and monotony within me.
The need to bring out the colorful world in me, led me to experiment with ceramics.

Though colorful, the fragile nature of the medium made the creations seem to be of impermanent nature.
I needed the feel of permanence and strength in the medium, so I began to work copper sheet metal and enameling.

This constant exploration and experimentation with various mediums has in a way enable d me to break the boundaries of visual representations and limitations set by the very mediums that I used.
Thus representing the human figure-man or woman interlinked with nature, found a freedom of expression made possible through the various mediums I employed.
Just as the medium did not restrict me from expressing my self so should my compositions not be bound within a frame work of particular philosophy of thought or ideology.

My compositions are the reflections of life the constant shift of human emotions, the constant change in life, the constant movement in life.
The craftsman ship that goes into bringing these moments alive, this makes The compositions a work of art.
To me art and craft are not two separate entitles.
It is craft that elevates the expression of soul to art.
What I feel and I thought, mind commands hands to do create art.
This thirst for artistic expression even today remains unquenched with me and will never be quenched..
