Il obtient les plus hautes récompenses internationales : d'abord au plus important concours de guitare de l'époque, le Concours International de Paris-Radio-France, où il sera le premier guitariste Français à remporter le premier Prix.
Suivront les concours de Belgrade, le Gaudéamus d'Amsterdam (musique contemporaine) , et celui de Tokyo (également en tant que compositeur).
Depuis Arnaud Dumond a été invité dans plus de 60 pays du monde et dans les plus grands Festivals, de Moscou à New-York, de Stockholm à Madrid, de Prague à Montréal, de Jerusalem à Johannesburg etc.
Parallèlement il connaît des réussites en tant que compositeur : concours, commandes, résidences, musiques de film (sur Antenne 2 cette année) etc.
Oeuvres pour guitare, bien sûr, au répertoire de maints guitaristes par le monde, mais aussi pour choeur, orchestre, quatuors, piano etc Son "Requiem de la Nativité" pour choeurs et orchestre a été joué dans plusieurs cathédrales de France (Reims, La Madeleine à Paris, Evreux, Rouen…) avec les récitants Robert Hossein, Michael Lonsdale et MC Barrault.
Il a enregistré une vingtaine de disques, (Integral Classic).

He was only ten when he began to compose and play the guitar and the piano.
Arnaud Dumond enjoyed the tuition of such diverse figures as Yepes, Pujol, J.Williams and Alberto Ponce at the Ecole Normale de Musique of Paris.
Then followed a succession of international prizes: he was the first Frenchman to be awarded first prize at the famous Radio France Guitar Competition (where he also won a composition prize the year before), the first guitarist to win the Gaudeamus Competition for Interpreters of Contemporary Music, and was also prizewinner at the International Musical Youth competition.
The Tokyo Yamaha Prize for composer-performers crowned his twofold calling.
He was soon considered as one of the outstanding guitarists of his generation.
He has given recitals in over forty different countries and has been invited to major festivals in cities as New York, Moscow, Prague, Vienna, Sydney, Jerusalem, Amsterdam, Roma, Geneva, Stokholm, Tokyo, Singapore, Madrid, Cuba and Canada.
He has made over twenty recordings as soloist or chamber music player, with a repertoire covering periods from the Renaissance to the present day and on instruments which include the lute and the MIDI-compatible guitar.
Although by choice mainly self-taught, he studied musical analysis in visiting Nadia Boulanger (he taught at the American Conservatory of Fontainebleau), Maurice Ohana and J-P.
