In 1992, Shri Kodyadka Jayarama Hegde made a trip to the famous Aadi Shakthyathmaka Annapoorneshwari Temple in Horanadu on a particularly auspicious day.
In a moment of joy during a Darshan of the Goddess, Shri Hegde's first conceptualized the idea of creating a shrine to this Goddess close to his family home in Kodyadka.
Inspiration from the Goddess and Shri Hegde’s missionary zeal then sparked a 5 year journey that culminated in the creation of Sri Devi Annapoorneshwari Temple at Hosanadu Kodyadka..

Over the past Fifteen years, the Sri Devi Annapoorneshwari Temple in the Hosanadu, Kodyadka has made a mark for itself with its welcoming and divine atmosphere.

DESIGN, CONSTRUCTION AND INNAUGURATION.

After consultations with Astrologers and the Village Elders, a 7 acre plot of land was chosen as the site for the temple.
After a ceremony to lay a foundation stone for the institution by Shree Vishwesha Thirtha Swamiji of the Pejawar Mutt, the responsibility for a Vaasthu design was handed to the noted temple designer Shree Dakshina Moorthy.
A traditional South Indian style of design was envisioned with shrines to Devi Annapoorneshwari, Prasanna Ganapathi, Shree Naga Sannidhi, Anjaneya (Hanuman) and the Navagraha.
The Mantapam housing the Devi shrine can accomodate over 400 devotees.
The core ethos behind the worship of the Goddess Annapoorneshwari is the provision of meals to all visitors.
The temple’s main dining hall, ‘Annapoorna’ is housed in an area covering over 6000 square feet with a capacity to accomodate 900 guests in each sitting..

FESTIVALS.

The temples Annual Festival will be held in the first week of January every year.
It starts with a festival of lights in the Temple Tank, a Car Festival, special services like the Palla Pooja (Worship of a mound cooked rice) and Huvina Pooja (flower offering).
The Bali Seva, Katte Pooja (offerings in different localities of the village), Tulabhara and Samrokshana are the other rituals that constitute the Annual Festival.
