2010 Dünya Basketbol Şampiyonası için yapılmıştır.
VIP, loca ve portatif tribünler hariç 10.400 olan kapasite bu etkenlerle 13 bine kadar çıkmaktadır.İnşaat2010 Dünya Basketbol Şampiyonası için Ankara'da yapılan Ankara Arena çok amaçlı spor tesisinin inşaatında toplam 34 bin m3 beton ve 4 bin ton demir kullanılmıştır.
İnşaatta 370 işçi günde iki vardiyalı sistemle 18 saat mesai yapmıştır.
Çalışmalar 2010 Şubat ayının ilk haftasında toplamda 8 ayda tamamlanmıştır.OrganizasyonlarAnkara Arena tamamlandıktan sonra ilk olarak 9.
Efes Cup ve 2010 Dünya Basketbol Şampiyonası'nda boy göstermiştir.Basketbol dışında voleybol, tenis, buz hokeyi ve boks gibi spor branşlarının organizasyonlarına da ev sahipliği yapabilmektedir.Kapasite55 bin m²'lik bir alan üzerine kurulan olan Ankara Arena 1.425'i protokol koltuğu olmak üzere toplam 10.400 seyirci kapasitesine sahiptir.Genel ÖzelliklerAnkara'nın şehir merkezinde yer alan tesiste 21 bin m²'lik otopark yer almaktadır.
Bu otopark 545'i kapalı olmak üzere toplam 925 araçlık dizayn edilmiştir.
