Detailed description is A local all-volunteer nonprofit ‘cooperating Association’ working with the State of California’s Department of Parks & Recreation Anderson Marsh State Historic Park is located at the southeast corner of Clear Lake, at the formation of Cache Creek, on Hwy 53 between the Cities of Lower Lake and Clearlake, in Lake County, California.
Clear Lake is the largest natural lake wholly within the borders of California, and one of the oldest lakes in North America.

The Park consists of over 1000 acres and contains archeological sites of the Southeastern Pomo Native Americans that are at least 10,000 years old, as well as the original 19th Century Ranch House and Barn complex that was constructed and used by the earliest European settlers in the area.
The Park also includes a nature preserve that embraces hundreds of acres of valuable wildlife habitat and Tule marsh, with one of the largest Great Blue Heron rookeries on Clear Lake.
There are hiking and boating trails that allow the visitor to experience several protected habitats within the Park, including freshwater marsh, oak woodland, grasslands and riparian woodland.
