Detailed description is A commercial hops producer in Michigan's breathtaking Thumb The Dusci family purchased the farm in 1974, farming cattle and growing hay (among other commodities) through 2011.
Wanting to leave law enforcement and return home to Michigan to live the rest of his life farming hops, Eric (and his wife, Pamela) put plans into motion in 2010.

A hop test-plot was established in 2012; and on December 31 of that year, Eric officially resigned, moving back to Michigan a few days later.
Sacrificing time together for the sake of the business, Pamela stayed in New Mexico until February 14, 2014.
American Patriot Hops planted an additional 5 acres of hops in 2013.

Eric and his wife Pamela, along with family and friends, are dedicated to growing and harvesting hops throughout the entire 80-acre property.
