But that's not a secret.

Considered a Metal Diva in the European symphonic metal scene, Amanda Somerville is a singer- songwriter originally of the pop / rock vein who's been roughed up at the edges with a razor blade, painted over the scars with makeup and is now sweetly taking her revenge on the microphone.
Since 2000, the Michigan-born songstress has divided her time between the US and Europe, primarily Germany and the Netherlands and is also a vocal coach, co-writer and producer to boot.
Her catalogue of projects, guest appearances and live shows garnered to date with bands like EPICA, KAMELOT and AVANTASIA is an impressive body of work that gives her more credibility in metal circles than she ever bargained for.
Some of her most recent endeavors include touring with renowned artists Alice Cooper, Ian Gillan (DEEP PURPLE) and Steve Lukather (TOTO) and a duet album entitled Kiske-Somerville with metal legend Michael Kiske (HELLOWEEN).
Currently she's focusing on studio work recording a new solo album..

As culturally diverse as they are instrumentally, the band TRILLIUM comprises spans 2 continents, 3 countries and a multitude of musical backgrounds.
But the language of Rock is universal and the Lady and Gents of TRILLIUM are fluent and not afraid to speak their minds.

Amanda Somerville is an American singer-songwriter and vocal coach best known for her collaborations with various European metal bands (Avantasia, Epica, Kamelot, After Forever).

The TRILLIUM name came about since it “symbolizes a trinity because things are always showing up in 3s in my environment and there are a number of triads occurring in this project, as well” tells Amanda.
“The name of the album, "Alloy," is symbolic and metaphorical.
An alloy is a substance composed of two or more metals, or of a metal or metals combined with a non-metal, intimately mixed.
It also means standard; quality; fineness and is an admixture, as of good with evil.
I'm a Pisces, so I'm all about duality and combining known elements - sometimes opposing each other - to create something different.
Though I've been working myself further and further into the metal scene, I still always feel the need to add an extra element to make it shine, bling, stand out”..

Musically, TRILLIUM is a hybrid of rock and metal: it's riffy, has a heavy hand instrumentally and is quite different from anything Amanda has ever worked on so far.
