A Brief History of the Delta Rho Chapter.

On November 2nd, 1989, seven men met in a small apartment in Mount Pleasant, Mi.
Their names were Rodney Rusk, Tim Warvel, Dale Leix, Mark Gutting, Mark Jewel, Albert Johnston, and Lou Moreno.
Their mission: To create an alternative experience to other Greek organizations at Central Michigan University.
By the end of the day, they had decided to start a new fraternity, to be known as Delta Phi Rho.

Over the next year, the group accumulated over 20 members, eventually coming to the decision to join a national organization.
After a search was conducted though many groups, the group voted unanimously to become an interest group in Alpha Sigma Phi.
Over the next three years, the organization went from interest group to colony to full chapter, the fastest any group had done so in the history of the national fraternity.
The charter was signed on April 30, 1993, and Delta Phi Rho became the Delta Rho chapter of Alpha Sigma Phi..

Over the next few years, the chapter grew, and prospered, becoming one of the most active organizations on campus.
In 2002, due to low membership, the Grand Chapter Advisor, with the approval of the Alumni Association and the National Office, made the executive decision to re-organize the chapter, transitioning all of the active members to alumni.
That fall, the chapter recruited fifteen gentlemen, who became the new prospective members of the chapter.
After a series of a goals had been met, the new members were initiated into Alpha Sigma Phi, and the chapter was officially re-opened..

Since then, the Delta Rho chapter has grown and expanded, remaining stable in their membership, serving their community, and looking to the future.
