Initially four separate organizations of SC/ST employees were functioning in the bank locally based at Calcutta, Delhi, Punjab and Madras.
Allahabad Bank SC/ST Employees Welfare Council was formed at Calcutta on 10th November 1978.
By the initiative of this Council the four organizations assembled in a conference held at 28th February, 1984.
All the four organizations were merged into one single organisation named as 'All India Allahabad bank SC/ST Employees Welfare Council'..

Firstly the Council was affiliated to 'All India SC/ST, Backward Classes and Minorities Employes Co-ordination Council' a registered organization having its office at 309, Bipin Bihari ganguly Street, Calcutta - 12.
With the formation of All India SC/ST Bank Employees Federation in 1979 we shifted our affiliation to the Federation which is also a registered organisation and we were authorized to utilize Federation's Registration No.
S/26043 since ours was an un-registered organisation having its office address at 6, Rajendra Lal Street, calcutta - 6.
In 1989 our office address was made at 14, India Exchange Place, 1st Floor, Calcutta - 1 while the Bank provided us an office accomodation with furniture and office equipments..

Subsequently it was felt necessary to get our own registration and decision in this respect was taken in the CEC meeting held at Kanpur on 26th january, 1992.
The decision for our own registration was approved by the General Body of the 7th All India Conference held at Lucknow on 29th February & 1st march 1992.
it took four years to materialize the decision since Registrar of Films, Societies and Non-trading Corporations was not accepting our application for registration as an All India Body.
After vigorous persuation we got favourable response and accordingly during CEC meeting at Bhubneshwar on 10th April 1996 the necessary papers were signed by the CEC members which was submitted for registration.
On 20th June, 1996 the Registrar of Films, Societies and Non-Trading Registration of Socities Act.
XXVI of 1961 bearing No.
S/83843.
In the CEC meeting held at Allahabad on 16th & 17th August 1997 the registration was accepted and was circularized for utilization.
In the General Body meetings afterwards some ammendments have been made and incorporated in the Rules and Regulations which have duly been recorded with the office of the Registrar.
