Detailed description is 川桁駅（かわげたえき）は、福島県耶麻郡猪苗代町大字川桁字新町（あらまち）にある、東日本旅客鉄道（JR東日本）磐越西線の駅である。急行「いなわしろ」の停車駅であった。1960年代までは磐梯急行電鉄の接続駅だった。歴史 1899年（明治32年）8月4日 - 岩越鉄道の貨物駅として開業。 1900年（明治33年）11月3日 - 旅客営業開始。 1906年（明治39年）11月1日　- 岩越鉄道が国有化。 1913年（大正2年）5月11日 - 日本硫黄沼尻鉄道開業、同線川桁駅開業。 1968年（昭和43年）10月14日 - 磐梯急行電鉄（沼尻鉄道）休止。 1969年（昭和44年）3月27日 - 沼尻鉄道廃止。 1982年（昭和57年）11月15日 -急行「いなわしろ」が快速格下げ急行列車の停車がなくなる。 1983年（昭和58年）3月10日 - 磐越西線CTC化に伴い駅無人化。 1987年（昭和62年）4月1日 - 国鉄分割民営化によりJR東日本の駅となる。
