Detailed description is https://www.clinicalsupervisor.net NBCC Provider (6532) providing 30 hours of clinical supervision training to LPCs Advanced Counselor Training was started in 2011 in order to provide regular trainings in clinical supervision for Licensed Professional Counselors (LPC), as regular, on-site trainings were not either not provided at all, provided on a limited basis in both MI and NJ.
Since both MI and NJ regulations require LPCs to either take a graduate level supervision course or receive the ACS certification (for NJ, MI only requires 30 hours of education in clinical supervision), in order to be considered 'qualified supervisors' for new supervisees.

We have decided to offer this training regularly (at least twice a year in NJ and currently once a year in MI or as needed), to meet the need, and to keep the costs moderate ($495 for the 30 hour training paid to Advanced Counselor Training, plus an additional $110 cost of the ACS application fee paid to the CCE, bringing the total cost to obtain your ACS at $605; well under these other pricing structures currently available in NJ or MI..

The need for LPCs to have 30 hours of specialized training in supervision started in 2009 in NJ and in 2013 in MI, when each state's Counselor Committee put a new supervisory standard in place for LPCs.
This standard consists of the requirement for LPCs to obtain their Approved Clinical Supervisor (NJ) or receive 30 hours of education (MI).
in order to be seen as a 'qualified supervisor' for any licensed supervisee (LAC in NJ and LLPC in MI)..

Our first offering of this regularly scheduled 30 hour workshop series was held on September 10, 17, 24, October 1, and 8, 2011.
This workshop series aims to help LPCs meet the educational requirement of the ACS.
Completion of this workshop series will enable any LPC who also meets the other requirements (see our home page for full details) to apply for the Approved Clinical Supervisor Credential.
NOTE: The next offering this 30 hour clinical supervision workshop series, in the Spring of 2012 (March 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31, 2012), is now available for online registration.
