The purpose of the research is to investigate Aboriginal and Torres Strait peoples’ online engagements using social media.
It will explore:.

• If and how social media serves as a platform to build, assert, maintain and perform an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander identity;.

• If and how social media provides a means of gaining affirmation of an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander identity, and what implications this may have for the process and qualification known as Confirmation of Aboriginality; and.

• Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ views on how social media sites can constitute a ‘community’, and the implications this may have..
