Detailed description is Der Abitibisee ist ein See an der Grenze zwischen den kanadischen Provinzen Ontario und Québec.Im See befinden sich über 900 Inseln.
Er umfasst eine Fläche von 931 km² und besteht aus zwei Teilen, die nur über eine Enge verbunden sind (siehe Karte), so dass man eigentlich von zwei Seen sprechen könnte.
Der einzige Abfluss ist der Abitibi River.
Dieser fließt über den Moose River in die James Bay.
Geographisch liegt der See zwischen der James Bay und dem Ottawa River.
