Detailed description is a special place for special people – un posto speciale per gente speciale – Ein besonderer Ort für besondere Gäste ll nome Banditella deriva, come la parola bandito, dal verbo bandire e un tempo descriveva di solito un area, spesso boschiva, nella quale era bandita la caccia per favorire il ripopolamento della selvaggina.
Quello che oggi potremmo definire una riserva.
Ed era proprio questo che avevamo in mente: creare un rifugio per coloro che ogni tanto hanno bisogno di fuggire dall'affanno della vita quotidiana per prendere una boccata di ossigeno.
Infatti non è l'edificio peculiare, il giardino pieno di oggetti strani o quello che chiamiamo piscina ma che sembra una delle pozze “termali” del viterbese e neanche la posizione felice della Banditella in mezzo a una natura ancora quasi intatta, tra mare e lago di Bolsena: La cosa particolare è l'aria che si respira qua (che grazie ad un installazione sonora di Mario Ciccioli si può anche sentire).
È questo “sentirsi a casa” che rende la countryhouse (B&B) “la Banditella” un posto speciale per gente speciale.––––.

And that was exactly what we had in mind: to create a reserve for all those who occasionally need to escape from the thin air of daily life to get a breath of oxygen.
It is not the peculiar building, the garden full of strange objects, the unconventional pool or the happy position of Banditella in the middle of an almost untouched nature between sea and lake Bolsena: the peculiar thing is the air you breathe here (and you can hear it also through an artistic installation of Mario Ciccioli).

Der Name Banditella stammt, genauso wie das Wort "Bandito" (Bandit) vom Verb "bandire" (bannen, verbieten) ab und umschrieb in der Regel ein Gebiet, innerhalb dessen Grenzen ein striktes Jagdverbot galt um den Wildbestand wieder zu beleben und aufzubessern.
Das was wir heute als Reservat bezeichnen würden.
Und genau das haben wir im Sinn gehabt: Eine Zuflucht für all diejenigen zu schaffen denen im grauen Alltag die Luft zu dünn wird und die gerne mal wieder durchatmen möchten.
So ist es nicht das eigenwillige Gebäude, der Garten mit all den seltsamen Objekten und dem komischen Schwimmbad oder die Lage zwischen Bolsena See und den Stränden der Maremma imitten einer Kulturlandschaft in der jeder Tuffstein 3000 Jahre Geschichte erzählt: Es ist Luft hier (die man Dank einer Klanginstallation von Mario Ciccioli auch hören kann), der warmherzige Kontakt und das Gefühl irgendwie “bei Freunden untergekommen zu sein” die aus dem Countryhouse (B&B) la Banditella “a special place for special people” machen.
