Detailed description is This program provides academic support during non-school hours for middle and high school students in both public and private schools in Lamar County.
This program supports the creation of community learning centers that provide academic enrichment opportunities during non-school hours for middle and high school students in Lamar County who demonstrate a need to improve academic skills; who participate in our free and reduced lunch program and are economically disadvantaged; as well as those who participate in our special education program.
It will help students meet state and local student standards in core academic subjects, offers students a broad array of enrichment activities that can complement their regular academic programs, and offers literacy and other educational services to the families of participating children.
It is open to youth in both private and public schools.
Transportation will be provided by Lamar County Schools..
