Hi Mark, the Pfizer vaccine is scheduled to arrive in the country at 10 minutes past 12, so any moment now. Through the COVAX facility, 117-thousand doses of the vaccine are coming. Since people need two shots each, this batch will be enough for 58,500 people. This batch coming through the COVAX facility is not part of the 13 million Pfizer vaccines that South Korea is buying directly from the company.

President Moon visits local health center to oversee first COVID-19 vaccine inoculation

South Korea has kicked off its highly-anticipated nationwide COVID-19 vaccination program with the first shots administered around an hour ago. President Moon Jae-in also visited a local health center to see the first person there get the vaccine. President Moon Jae-in visited a health center in Mapo-gu District in Seoul to check out the first inoculations. COVID-19 vaccinations started today nationwide at 9AM, Korea time, just over an hour ago. President Moon looked around the vaccination zone within the health center and was briefed on the preparations before he saw the first person get his jab.
