By: Kristen Weaver HASKELL COUNTY, Okla. - A Haskell County nurse who’s been in the hospital fighting COVID-19 is now the victim of a home break-in. It happened just one day before Brenda Benson was set to come home.  Benson s family said this is just too much and the Haskell County Sheriff agrees. They both urge people with information about who did this to come forward. For an entire year, Brenda Benson has been helping COVID-19 patients at a Muskogee hospital. In January, she got COVID herself and spent three weeks on a ventilator. Then, she was finally on her way to recovery.

OSDH shifts reporting of COVID-19 cases

OSDH shifts reporting of COVID-19 cases The Shawnee News-Star Reports on the state s COVID-19-related deaths have been stalled at the same number (4,534) for nearly a week not because no deaths are occurring, but because the Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH) has adjusted the way it s confirming results. The state s active cases continue to decline regarding COVID-19, but now Oklahoma residents won t be able to see much of the information previously provided over the past year. On Wednesday, March 3, OSDH altered how it reported its daily COVID-19 Situation Updates. “Today we are changing the way we report COVID-19 deaths in an effort to show a more timely picture of the disease’s impact in Oklahoma,” the report reads. “Moving forward, we will include the Provisional Death Count provided by CDC/NCHS in the daily Situation Update reports.”

These Counties Are Projected to Have the Most Extreme Heat in 2050 By Katelyn Leboff, Stacker News On 3/2/21 at 8:00 PM EST Climate change and global warming are nothing new though, some are still in denial of the existence and negative impacts of these phenomena. Though the media lives for hyping up big weather phenomena, actual scientific research and data reveal the earth is, in fact, heating up at an alarming rate. Much of global warming is the product of greenhouse gas emissions caused by humans and their activities. In the 20th century, the world saw a 1.44-degree Fahrenheit increase in its mean surface temp. Since the 1970s, summer temperatures have been on a steady climb, increasing 0.4 degrees every 10 years in the U.S. and 2 degrees overall.
