Sir David Barclay was a billionaire, alongside his twin brother Frederick Barclay who he owned the Telegraph newspaper group with. He passed away on January 10th after a short illness.
In his lifetime, the twins became two of the most successful businessmen of their generation with ventures spanning over hotels, shipping, retail and newspapers.
David Barclay was always relatively private about his personal life and he rarely took part in interviews. Speaking once, he reportedly said on privacy: “Privacy is a valuable commodity. There is no incentive for us to talk about our business affairs.”
