A Rochester man was arrested in Iowa on Friday for allegedly trying to steal catalytic converters from cars.
Howard County, Iowa, sheriff’s deputies were called to Lime Springs on Friday afternoon for a report of people trying to remove catalytic converters from cars there.
Tyler Jeffrey Schacherer was taken into custody Friday afternoon. Deputies executed a search warrant for his car and found seven catalytic converters in his possession.
Schacherer was charged with second-degree possession of stolen property and fourth-degree criminal mischief, according to the Howard County Sheriff’s Office.

(ABC 6 News) A Cresco man arrested last night after a woman called police to report that her car was stolen. The Howard County Sheriff s Office says they found the stolen vehicle near Bonair. Authorities arrested Tyler Dane Harbin of Cresco, Iowa. Harbin is being charged with operating without owner s consent and driving while having a suspended driver s license.

Cresco, IA (KROC-AM News) - Authorities in northern Iowa are reporting the arrest of a Rochester man suspected of stealing catalytic converters.
A statement from the Howard County Sheriff s Office says Tyler Schacherer was arrested last Thursday after deputies were called to a residence near Lime Springs where he was allegedly caught removing the emission control devices from at least one vehicle. Officials say a search warrant was then obtained and executed, which led to the recovery of seven catalytic converters.
Schacherer is facing charges of second-degree possession of stolen property and fourth-degree criminal mischief.

A Cresco man was arrested early Sunday on auto theft charges.
Howard County Dispatch received a call from a Cresco resident about 12:10 a.m. that her vehicle had been stolen. A joint investigation by the Cresco Police Department and Howard County Sheriff’s Office located the vehicle near Bonair, about seven miles northwest of Cresco. Authorities then arrested Tyler Harbin on charges of operating without owner’s consent and driving while suspended.

A Minnesota man is facing theft charges in northern Iowa.
The Howard County Sheriff’s Office has arrested Tyler Schacherer of Rochester for stealing catalytic converters from a home outside of Lime Springs on Friday. A search warrant was executed and authorities discovered Schacherer to be in illegal possession of at least seven stolen converters.
He has been charged with 2nd-degree possession of stolen property and 4th-degree criminal mischief.
