AMHERST Buoyed by the success of its fall COVID-19 testing program and bolstered by a $5 million state grant, the University of Massachusetts Amherst began expanded asymptomatic testing Monday.

HOLYOKE The demise of Gateway City Arts unless a buyer emerges to keep the arts and dining complex going leaves a hole in what has been a promising stretch of Race Street in the city’s canal district.
“This summer could have been one of their biggest summers,” said Aaron Vega, the city’s outgoing state representative.
Gateway City owners Vitek Kruta and Lori Divine announced Friday that they will shut down the Gateway City Arts complex and try to sell the property after exhausting efforts to keep going amid the pandemic.
