Horti Asia webinar discusses innovations in fresh produce supply chain
February 25 , 2021
Horti Asia hosted its fifth digital talk to bring awareness to available technology and to hear how innovation is the key to transforming the fresh fruit and vegetable supply chain.
The fresh produce supply chain continues to face unique challenges from pre-harvest to post-harvest, as its yields and quality are dependent upon factors beyond human control.
The webinar featured Daniel Manriquez Becerra of AgroFresh, Jacinto Trigo Bazzano of Tomra and was moderated by Rebecca Chard from FreshFruitPortal.com.
The panelists shared how their companies have provided innovative solutions to different challenges faced by the industry, such as preventing the loss of products and reducing waste throughout the supply chain.
Despite a new wake of COVID-19 pandemic in Thailand, Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre (BITEC) announced the centre remains open with both Thai and international events still going as planned. Following the government policies and guidance, BITEC coordinates with all relevant sectors to ensure employees carry out the international standards security and hygiene when performing duties and delivering services. BITEC has always followed the government policies to prevent the spread of COVID-19 strictly since the first wave in 2020. Apart from strengthening measures and adjusting the service requirements to be in line with the current policy, BITEC has requested employees to participate in online training sessions on hygiene and service quality control to ensure the safety of exhibitors and visitors, said Panittha Buri, Managing Director of Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre (BITEC).
