The Hanoi Department of Health has suspended a clinic where a Japanese expert visited before dying with COVID-19 last week.
The suspension was imposed on Raffles Medical Hanoi at 51 Xuan Dieu Street, Tay Ho District for its breaching regulations on COVID-19 screening, the health department said in a decision.
The suspension will last until the clinic has rectified its wrongdoing.
On February 13, a Japanese man was found dead at Somerset West Point Hanoi. He was then identified as an expert of Mitsui & Co. Vietnam Ltd. Hanoi Branch.

The Hanoi Department of Health has announced the travel history of a Japanese man who posthumously tested positive for the novel coronavirus last weekend and is tracking all people who had contact with him.
The foreigner was Vietnam’s COVID-19 patient No. 2,229, the Ministry of Health confirmed on Monday morning, adding that he was an imported case.
The 54-year-old, an expert of Mitsui & Co. Vietnam Ltd. Hanoi Branch, arrived at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City on January 17.

Hanoi’s air quality continues worsening
Hanoi’s air pollution has continued worsening in many areas, posing health risks for local residents.
According to the Hanoi Department of Natural Resources and Environment, the air quality index at the city’s 34 air monitoring stations this morning, January 21 faced extremely severe pollution. Four stations located in Thanh Xuan District, Cau Giay District and Hoan Kiem District had the worst results.
The department’s Environmental Protection Board said that the content of high fine particulate matters of PM 2.5 and PM 10 increased by 1.3-2 times against the day before.
Weather conditions with the thick dense smog and high moisture is among the major causes of the serious pollution in the city, the board added.
