Military veterans who wish to receive the vaccine against COVID-19 can be inoculated in Houma this weekend.
The Southeast Louisiana Veterans Health Care System will hold a large-scale COVID-19 vaccination drive at the Houma Community-Based Outpatient Clinic at 6433 West Park Ave. this Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 27-28. Appointments will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Walk-ins should arrive before 2 p.m.
Saturday will mark the first time the VA brings the vaccine to Houma. Veterans must be eligible and enrolled in VA health care to get vaccinated.
“The vaccine clinic in Houma is the fifth site in southeast Louisiana,” said Medical Center Director Fernando Rivera. “I encourage veterans to take advantage of the added location and to protect themselves by getting vaccinated.”
