But these are not normal times, of course, and these fun and fabulous fetes still cannot happen in person due to COVID-19. Fortunately, savvy nonprofits and creative event planners have figured out ways to bring home both the fundraising and fun. (Because, hey, who says you can t wear couture on your couch?)

Readers appreciate an independent judiciary, are grateful to donors and volunteers who help the Salvation Army and call Jerry Jeff Walker a Texas legend.
1 The judiciary The dangerous and misguided efforts by politicians such as Sen. Ted Cruz, Rep. Louie Gohmert and Attorney General Ken Paxton to overturn the results of the recent presidential election were thwarted in large part by decisions of federal and state justices and judges. Of the three branches of government, only the judicial branch functioned as intended by the founders during the tumultuous events following the election.
Dallas and Collin county shopping centers ended 2020 with lower customer traffic after a holiday season when safety was front and center, purchases stretched out over a longer period of time and more buying moved online.
Once Christmas was over, customer counts at Dallas and Collin county shopping centers dropped off from the prior week, when people were rushing to complete gift purchases.
Customer counts declined week-over-week at all 10 malls, outlet centers and outdoor shopping centers the week of Dec. 28 through Jan. 3, according to data gathered by Placer.ai for
