The museum is located at the corner of East Main and East streets in Hillsboro.

(HCP Photo/Caitlin Forsha) Highland County’s permissive sales tax receipts have exceeded $3 million in the first five months of 2021, as discussed at the Wednesday, May 19 county commission meeting. Thus far, 2021 continues to show increases over the record-high totals of 2020, with the $662,340.42 reported for May being the third-highest total so far this calendar year. Year-to-date, Highland County’s total is $3,399,289.66, an increase of $517,753.94 compared to the same five-month period in 2020. “It was $105,947.35 better than last year [in May],” commissioner Jeff Duncan said. “Our sales tax numbers continue to hold in there, and if anything, increase, so it looks like we’re a little over half a million dollars a
