Castle Eaton: A business that turns thrown-away food and scraps into gas is looking to expand. Biomethane Castle Eaton Ltd runs an anaerobic digester on a site in the country just south of the village near Cricklade. Anaerobic digesters take organic material such as food or garden or agricultural waste, and lock it into airtight tanks. This increases the rate of breakdown of the material and creates methane gas to be used for energy and compost.
