Royal Bolton Hospital A RETIRED carer died at Royal Bolton Hospital a few weeks after she collapsed while getting off a bus. Bolton Coroners Court heard how Patricia McLellan, of Highfield Road, Farnworth, was admitted to hospital on June 12 after a collapse, where a CT scan revealed a bleed to the brain. She appeared to improve and was discharged four days later. But a fortnight passed, and Mrs McLellan - the widow of Melvin McLellan - was readmitted following uncontrollable vomiting on July 1. Her condition deteriorated and she died in hospital care on July 7, aged 80. Dr Patrick Waugh, who conducted the postmortem examination, gave the medical cause of death as one of acute subdural haematoma - which is a blood clot.

Toronto police say two men have been shot in an east Toronto neighbourhood.
Police said they were called at around 10:30 p.m. Monday to the Gerrard Street East and Highfield Road area, which is just east of Greenwood Avenue, for a report of a shooting.
Two victims were found with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. They have been transported to the hospital, police said.

Toronto Police were called to the area of Gerrard Street East and Highfield Road, east of Greenwood Avenue, for reports of a shooting at around 10:30 p.m. Both victims sustained serious injuries and were taken to hospital, Toronto Police said. Police said there were reports that a man was running through backyards in the area, and they were searching for suspects. No suspect description was immediately available.
