HCM City (VNA) – Factcheckvn,
a fact-checking channel launched by the
Vietnam News Agency (VNA) on TikTok,
was honoured as the community media channel of the year at TikTok Awards
Vietnam 2020 ceremony held in HCM City on December 27 night.
TikTok Awards Vietnam, the first of its
kind in the country, is to honour outstanding creators, trends and campaigns
that have contributed to spreading positive messages to the community.
The TikTok account Factcheckvn forms
part of the VNA’s fake news project named “The fight against fake news –
Creative ideas and Effective solutions” that also includes an anti-fake news
song in 15 languages and a training campaign for students.

The houses were built at a cost of 700 million VND (30,360
USD), raised by the
Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Committees of centrally-run
cities and provinces, including 400 million VND from the VFF Committees of Can
Tho, Da Nang, Hai Phong, and Hanoi, with the remainder from the HCM City Thien
Tam (Kind Heart) Foundation through the city’s VFF Committee.

Kien Giang (VNA) – Leaders of Kien Giang hosted
visiting Indian Consul General to Ho Chi Minh City Madan Mohan Sethi on
December 28, discussing potential for cooperation between the Mekong Delta
province and Indian localities.
At the meeting, Chairman of the provincial People’s Council
Mai Van Huynh and Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen
Thanh Nhan highlighted the comprehensive political and economic ties between
Vietnam and India.

HCM City (VNS/VNA) - A major
roadway plan proposes an additional 1,000
kilometres of expressways to be built over the next 10 years
in the southern region, including the Mekong Delta.
The
expressway projects, which are part of the national road network draft
plan for the 2021-2030 period with a vision to 2050, were discussed
at a workshop held in Can Tho City in the delta recently.
Under the
draft plan, the south would have an additional 670km of expressways by
2025 and 300km by 2030.
Of the

Fine of US$861.8 imposed on two women for posting falsified Covid-19 test result
Two women in the Central City of Da Nang were fined VND20 million (US$861.8) for spreading falsified Covid-19 test result on social media causing public worry.
Lieutenant colonel Phung Van Hung from the Lien Chieu police agency said that the police decided to issue administrative fines on one woman in Thanh Khe District and one woman in Son Tra District for spreading and posting incorrect Covid-19 test results, triggering public outrage.
