CLEVELAND, Ohio Former Browns receivers coach Al Saunders worked for Marty Schottenheimer longer than any of his other coaches, serving as assistant head coach and receivers coach in Kansas City from 1989-98. He also lived eight houses away from Schottenheimer there, and their wives became as close as they were.
“Maybe somebody knew him better than I did, but I don’t know if anybody loved him more,’ Saunders told cleveland.com, getting choked up.
Arizona State University s athletics department lost $11 million last fiscal year as COVID-19 began, but 110 employees received more than $600,000 in discretionary bonuses likely the largest in the Pac-12 Conference records obtained by The Arizona Republic show.
The University of Arizona and six other Pac-12 schools gave no discretionary bonuses last year partially because of financial challenges caused by COVID-19, according to records obtained by The Republic. UA
laid off 21 employees in its athletics department because of budget problems related to the pandemic, while other schools imposed layoffs, furloughs and program cuts.
One Pac-12 athletic director said he waived his bonus and asked others to do the same to mitigate the negative impact that COVID-19 continues to have on revenues.

Longtime Chiefs head coach Marty Schottenheimer dead at 77
Schottenheimer coached the Chiefs from 1989 through 1998.

side on Monday, February 8, 2021 in Charlotte, North Carolina. Schottenheimer had been

Schottenheimer came to the Chiefs in 1989 after spending nine years with the Cleveland Browns the last five as their head coach. During his tenure with Kansas City, he compiled a regular-season record of 101-58-1 (.634), winning three AFC West championships and making the playoffs in seven of his 10 seasons at one point, reaching the playoffs in six consecutive years. In 1991, he led the Chiefs to their first playoff win since their 1969 Super Bowl IV victory. In 1993, he brought Kansas City to the AFC championship which would serve as the team’s high-water mark until 2018.
