The security footage shows 35-year-old Karen Ruiz running from her attacker in Arleta on Wednesday.
A few seconds later, the man chasing her fired multiple shots, killing Ruiz in front of her 3-year-old daughter.
Police are still looking for the alleged gunman, who has been identified as Ruiz s former boyfriend and the father of the girl.
His name is Herbert Nixon Flores and the 46-year-old is considered armed and dangerous.
According to LAPD, Ruiz drove to Arleta Wednesday morning to drop off her daughter at a baby sitter s home. Investigators say Flores followed Ruiz to the residence.

PACOIMA, Calif. - The Los Angeles Police Department is warning the public about an armed and dangerous man wanted for fatally shooting his ex-girlfriend in front of their young child in Pacoima, authorities said Thursday.
The suspect, Herbert Nixon Flores, 46, is considered armed and dangerous and, if seen, the public is urged to not confront or attempt to apprehend him but to contact law enforcement immediately.
Investigators said that around 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, officers responded to the 9000 block of Bartee Avenue after reports of a shooting.

The tape, which was released by the Los Angeles Police Department, shows Karen Ruiz, 35, getting out of a car screaming as her ex-boyfriend and father of her daughter, 46-year-old Herbert Nixon Flores, pulls up behind her.
Flores is seen chasing her up a driveway and then firing at her multiple times with a semi-automatic handgun before he runs back to his car and drives off.

Detectives with the Los Angeles Police Department are searching for a man suspected of shooting his former girlfriend to death Wednesday in Pacoima.
About 9:30 a.m., LAPD officers responded to a shooting in the 9000 block of Bartee Avenue, where they found a 35-year-old woman who had been shot multiple times, the department said in a statement.
The woman, whom authorities didn’t identify, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives believe the woman’s former boyfriend Herbert Nixon Flores, 46, fired the fatal shots, the LAPD said. The department’s statement did not describe how investigators came to that conclusion, and a detective assigned to the case did not immediately return a call seeking information.
