Palisades Interstate Police investigating multi-vehicle crash in Alpine that injured five

Authorities were investigating a three-vehicle crash on the Palisades Interstate Parkway early Saturday afternoon that forced police to extricate three people from an overturned minivan and five to be taken to the hospital with injuries.
Palisades Parkway Police received numerous calls around 12:31 p.m. about the accident at Exit 4 in Alpine, said Sgt. First Class Raymond E. Walter in an email. He said the accident involved a Chrysler minivan, a BMW sports utility vehicle, and a 2013 Toyota.
When police officers arrived at the scene, they reported that the accident involved three cars with one overturned vehicle, Walter said. He said the cars contained nine occupants, and police removed three people who were trapped in an overturned minivan and began medical aid on them. Walters said a total of five people were transported to area hospitals with nonlife-threat
These four New Jersey scenic byways were added to the national list

Four of New Jersey s scenic byways have been added to the list of National Scenic Byways, the first additions in more than a decade.
The new designations include the Western Highlands Scenic Byway from Vernon and Hardyston, the Palisades Scenic Byway that runs from New York state through Bergen County, the Pine Barrens Scenic Byway in the center of the state and the Bayshore Heritage Byway in the south.
The four join the Delaware River and Millstone Valley scenic byways already on the national list.
