Black, a registered nurse at the telemetry cardiac unit of the Henry Mayo Hospital in Valencia, just north of Los Angeles, barely has time to take a break or eat a meal. But what really worries her is not having enough time to spend with each of her patients.
Black said she rarely has time to help patients brush their teeth or go to the bathroom because she must prioritize making sure they get the medicine they need and don t develop bedsores.

Robbery Suspect Detained At Gunpoint In Front Of Henry Mayo
A robbery suspect was detained at gunpoint Tuesday afternoon near the entrance to Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital in Valencia.
Around 1 p.m. Tuesday, deputies responded to a possible robbery call on Poe Parkway in Stevenson Ranch, said Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
On their way to respond to the call, deputies spotted a vehicle near Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital that matched the description provided by an informant of the suspect’s vehicle, according to officials.
Sheriff’s deputies conducted a felony traffic stop in front of the hospital off of McBean Parkway, where deputies proceeded to detain the driver at gunpoint, according to officials.
Henry Mayo Reports Highest One-Day COVID-19 Deaths On Christmas Eve
Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital has reported the highest one-day number of COVID-19 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic on Christmas Eve.
Five additional COVID-19 patients have died at Henry Mayo since Wednesday, bringing the total number of deaths at the hospital since March to 65, according to Patrick Moody, spokesperson for Henry Mayo.
The age, identity or any underlying health conditions of the deceased are unable to be released due to privacy laws, according to Moody.
The total number of COVID-19 deaths across the Santa Clarita Valley now tops 100, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health.
