HENDERSONVILLE, North Carolina (WLOS) Henderson County child suffers severe but non-life-threatening injuries after a dog attack.
Hendersonville Police Chief Blair Myhand confirms, on Wednesday, June 2, 2021, at approximately 12:48 p.m. officers responded to a dog attack call in the Summit Circle area in Hendersonville.
Emergency responders arrived to find a 6-year-old foster child who had been attacked by the fostering family’s dog.
The child’s fostering grandmother was instrumental in separating the child and the dog during the attack and rendering assistance until help arrived.
The victim received severe but non-life-threatening injuries including lacerations to the head, face and arm.

Dozens show interest in citizen-led group to work with Hendersonville Police Department
Nearly 40 people attended a meeting Monday to hear Hendersonville Police Department Chief Blair Myhand s thoughts on a citizen group he s looking to form.
Myhand wants the group to give forward thinking feedback on how the department can make improvements and strengthen relationships with the community. He made it clear that his department won t carry out all of the suggestions the group comes up with but he also doesn t want to always be told he s doing a good job just because he s chief or because he s new to the department, he said.
Law officers from seven agencies joined drug task force members in the sweep of Operation WaveRider, which began after numerous complaints of drug trafficking and numerous overdose cases in Hendersonville and Henderson County.
Detectives identified Kendall Angram as the supply source for various controlled substances associated with the overdoses and were able to identify numerous individuals associated with Angram’s drug trafficking organization. As a result of the search warrants executed late last week, detectives located and seized quantities of cocaine, heroin/fentanyl, methamphetamine, marijuana, MDMA/Ecstasy. Detectives also seized $12,000 in cash as well as seven firearms.
