Bruce Power continues to support local communities during the pandemic

Over 30 facilities in Bruce, Grey and Huron Counties have receive a $500 boost to their activity budget helping seniors safely interact with each other and their loved ones. Some chambers getting rapid testing kits… but none locally

Exeter, ON, Canada / 90.5 Exeter Today May 10, 2021 | 5:37 AM The Ontario Chamber of Commerce has announced that a number of local chambers of commerce will be getting COVID-19 rapid test kits. The kits will then be distributed to local businesses with 150 or fewer employees for the purpose of helping identify asymptomatic or pre-symptomatic cases that might otherwise be missed. There are no chambers of commerce based in Bruce or Huron Counties among the 17 that are initially get the test kits. The closest to the north is Owen Sound and District Chamber of Commerce, and the London Chamber of Commerce to the South.

Local chambers of commerce receiving COVID test kits for small and medium businesses

A number of area chambers of commerce are receiving COVID-19 rapid tests for local businesses. These test kits are being made available to businesses with 150 or fewer employees in order to identify asymptomatic or pre-symptomatic cases of COVID-19 in the workplace that might otherwise be missed. The objective is to help curb the spread of COVID-19 in the workplace, at home, and around the community. There are no test kits being made available in Bruce or Huron Counties, the closest are the Owen Sound and District Chamber of Commerce and the London Chamber of Commerce.  

Long term care homes to receive funding from Bruce Power

Local organizations to receive funding from PWU membership

The Power Workers Union membership is donating to local organizations. Over 20 food banks, women’s shelters, and mental health initiatives in Bruce, Grey, and Huron Counties will receive a share of $52,000. In a news release, the PWU say they are pleased to be able to assist these local organizations with their efforts to help local citizens, particularly in these difficult times. The funds were recently approved through the PWU Bruce Site Equity Committee and will be distributed to the individual organizations over the coming weeks. Here are a list of organizations receiving funding: · Saugeen Shores Salvation Army Food Bank – $2,000 · Kincardine Food Bank – $2,000
