Hyundai Tucson Recalled in Pakistan Due to Fire Hazard
There’s been a rise in the number of vehicle fire incidents across Pakistan, and the names that come up in such news more often than others, are Kia Sportage and Hyundai Tucson. Hyundai Nishat has identified the problem, issuing a recall of the Tucson SUV to fix the problem.
Last week, the automaker released the following message, reportedly addressing the Tucson SUV owners
The company informed the owners of a faulty Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) module that could possibly short-circuit, sending the vehicle ablaze as a result. Hyundai Nishat has advised the customers to take the vehicles to the nearest 3S dealership, where the experts will sort out the issue by installing an enhanced protective kit and upgrading the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) to comply with the upgraded ABS module.
Hyundai Nishat Will Not Launch a Small Car in Pakistan
The Pakistani industry market has had a major paradigm shift over the last couple of years with several new products and players. Consequently, the SUV segment has flourished the most with more than half a dozen new SUVs introduced last year.
As per recent news, several more SUVs from Changan, Haval, DFSK, Proton, and other automakers are also on the way and will make Pakistan one of the most populous SUV markets in southeast Asia. However, the local automotive industry has skipped a rung on the vehicle variety ladder and has deprived the public of affordable compact commuter cars.
Hyundai to Begin Local Assembly of Santa Fe SUV
A couple of years ago, the Automotive Development Policy (ADP) 2016-21 (that was primarily meant to end the monopoly of the big three in Pakistan) allowed several car companies to establish their footing in Pakistan.
Now that these companies have entered Pakistan, they have begun competing amongst them to capture the lion’s share of the market. Consequently, the SUV segment has suddenly emerged as arguably the most popular segment among Pakistani car buyers amidst this battle, leading to a trend of all new automakers launching multiple SUVs in their product lines.
