Authorities on India s east coast began moving more than a million people to safety on Tuesday as a severe Cyclone Yaas neared, days after deadly cyclone hit the west coast.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said Cyclone Yaas was powering across the Bay of Bengal and would batter the eastern states of Odisha and West Bengal, and also Bangladesh, on Wednesday.

An earthquake on the border of Congo and Rwanda razed buildings in the city of Goma on Tuesday and stoked fears a nearby volcano would erupt again three days after dozens of people were killed and 17 villages were destroyed by lava.
The quake, measured at 5.3 magnitude by the Rwandan Seismic Monitor, was the largest of over 100 tremors that have followed the eruption on Saturday of Congo s Mount Nyiragongo volcano, one of the world s most active and dangerous. A ceasefire between Israel and Hamas-led Palestinian militants in the Gaza Strip held on Saturday as Egyptian mediators pressed on with talks with the two sides on securing longer-term calm, officials said.
The ceasefire began before dawn on Friday, and Palestinians and Israelis are now assessing the damage from 11 days of hostilities in which Israel pounded Gaza with air strikes and militants fired barrages of rockets at Israel.
Huma completes $130m funding round to expand digital ‘hospitals at home’ platform

UK healthtech company Huma has raised $130m in its latest funding round, in a bid to expand its digital ‘hospitals at home’ platform in the US, Asia and the Middle East.
The Series C funding round was led by Leaps by Bayer and Hitachi Ventures, with new strategic and financial investors also becoming shareholders.
This includes Samsung Next, Sony Innovation Fund by IGV, Unilever Ventures and HAT Technology & Innovation Fund by HAT, as well as former president of SoftBank Nikesh Arora and chairman of Allianz Michael Diekmann.
